Seventy-two galleries, over half of them newcomers, will offer a wide range of drawings and an immersion into contemporary art. First-time exhibitors include Éric Mouchet (Paris), Polysémie (Marseilles), Kitai (Tokyo) and Gallery 51 (Brussels), while the Loevenbruck and Lelong & Co galleries are among the returnees. The weekend-long event is divided into three parts: the "Hyperdrawing" exhibitions and performances in partnership with Frac Picardie; "Walldrawing", in partnership with the Dutch Embassy in France, Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Pernod-Ricard Foundation; and an extensive program of round tables. Joana P.R. Neves, the fair’s artistic director since 2018, and Philippe Piguet, art critic, freelance curator and the fair’s artistic director from 2010 to 2018 will moderate a discussion about approaches to contemporary drawing. Pascal Neveux, director of Frac Picardie, a partner since 2021, will interview an artist. The one-hour exchanges will then be available on the Drawing Now Art Fair’s YouTube channel (in French). A session in French at 5 pm on Saturday, May 21 will focus on collecting contemporary drawings with London-based Colombian collector Francesca-Bellini Joseph and freelance curator and art consultant Grégory Lang.
