How to understand and participate in this uniquely French institution and find the objects of your desire at affordable prices. All sessions are conducted in English. The inner workings of the French auction world will be explained in detail during the visits.

Participants will learn useful French terms, how to find and evaluate works of art on offer
– including furniture, paintings, jewelry, modern design contemporary art, prints, photographs, folk art, Asian art, tribal art, haute couture, etc.
– buy at the right price, to read an auction catalogue in French, how to preview the auction, review prices realized, being aware of restorations, fakes and copies…
