Born into a wealthy Parisian family, Pierre-Eugène
Montézin trained with his father, a lace designer, and then worked in the house of
decoration firm. An avid hunter and fisherman
he soon developed a taste for landscapes.
Despite ten consecutive rejections at the Salon, his perseverance-
