A hussar officer during the German campaign, Comte de Turpin de Crissé (1716-1795) was promoted to lieutenant general in 1780.
A copy bearing the coat of arms of the Chambre littéraire de la ville de Nantes, which became the cercle Louis XVI in 1878 (red wet stamp on the title of the first volume and small red wet stamp in the margin of a few plates). Binding restored, spine very rubbed.
