L.A.S. "Rachel" addressed to fellow Comédie Française member François-Joseph-Philoclès Régnier (1807-1885), dated March 9, 1843, in Paris. "In my eagerness to do as you wished, I did not consider that Thursday was the only day of the week when it was impossible for me to perform; choose another day and I will be very happy to put myself at your disposal. Once again, I apologize for my inattention, but I hope it won't cause any inconvenience, as this letter will reach you before your show is definitively booked. Receive a thousand compliments from your comrade - Rachel". The letter is framed and under glass, next to an engraving of his portrait by Léopold Massard (1812-1889), printed by A. Salmon, and above a carte de visite with autograph "avec mille regrets de n'avoir pu remercier Mr Bouffe de l'intérêt qu'il lui a témoigné pendant sa maladie à Lille". 1 page, in-8° format.
