COMPOSERS. 4 documents. DUKAS Paul (1865-1935) L.A.S. (s.l.) to a Dear Sir, March 2, 1908. 1 p in-12 on mourning paper. I am not preparing any chamber music and will have nothing to present at the Salon d'Automne. I cannot therefore reply to your offer [...] ; INDY Vincent d' (1851-1931) 2 L.A.S. to Mon cher Viardot ainsi qu'à Mon cher Audisio , Boffres (Ardèche), December 29, 1907.[(s.l.)Paris], Friday, March 9, 1906. 3 pp in-12 on mourning paper. I am responding to your request and you will find the program wording on the opposite sheet. Again, I am very sorry not to have been able to take part in the jury, but I am really too busy to be able to accept duties that require me to interrupt my regular class hours several times[...] I shall pass through Dijon next Tuesday, October 1, by the train which arrives at ¼, there is about a 20-minute stop, during which we could talk, if you have anything in particular to say to me[...] ; ONSLOW George (1784-1853) L.A.S. addressed to Monsieur Alphonse , Clermont April 29, 1829. 4 pp in-8. About the completion of one of his works. As soon as I arrived in my place, my dear sir, I thought of putting my hand to the dough and reworking my first work. I have finished n°1 and hasten to send it to you with 4 quintet notes arranged for four hands. You will see that it no longer exists for 2 violas and it is in the same way that I plan to remake n°3. n°2 will be revised and considerably changed and increased by a finale that I will pass on to you [...] I believe that I have removed from the first the stains that were there and that it will be able to stand comparison with its brothers. As this work (I refer to the 3 quintets combined) will be entirely different from what it was, I am very anxious that the old one should no longer be sold and that you should immediately pass on a new edition of this one [...] . Provenance: Coll. Evesque.
