Flora - Botany - The Gramont coat of arms BERGERET (Jean, Eugène and Gaston) Flore des Basses-Pyrénées by Jean BERGERET (1751-1813) augmented by Eugène BERGERET (1799-1866). New complete edition, published with a preface and notes by Gaston BERGERET. Pau, Garet, 1909. Fort in-8 paperback: LXXVI, 960pp. ½ period green chagrin, ornate spine with arms at foot on lightened spine, publisher's blue cover preserved, a bump on a headband, gilt head. Second edition much altered from that of 1803, with the addition of volumes 3 and 4, which remained in manuscript form. Interesting notes (in the absence of illustrations) on the location, flowering, medicinal use and legend of each plant. In Volume I of the original edition, before the flora proper, there is a "Cours élémentaire de botanique" which occupies half of Volume 1, and at the end of the same volume a "Mémoire lu au conseil d'Agriculture" concerning the servicing of the Pont-Long.
