Contemporary red calf, gilt irons and fillets on smooth spine, gilt title in center of upper board, gilt fillet framing the boards, gilt edges.
A rarity and curiosity in a very confidential edition, probably intended for those who attended the 1878 palace social event. It includes the names of Clermont-Tonnerre, Mr. and Mrs. Post, Maurice de Lassence and others.
