The American artist, known as Obey, added a vast blue tear to his mural of Marianne, the personification of the free French Republic. He made the adjustment when restoring the work, after activists painted tears of blood onto it in 2020 in protest of France’s “separatist” policies and treatment of migrants. (Le Monde)
