Lauren Halsey, known for her work honoring her local community in South Los Angeles, has been awarded the Seattle Art Museum’s Gwendolyn Knight and Jacob Lawrence Prize, winning $10,000 and a solo show at the institution. The annual award aims to support early-career Black artists.
