It’s a beautiful view towards the Church of le Zitelle, which dominates Venice’s Giudecca island, cast in a monochrome of shimmering grays, blues and whites. Conserved in a private collection since 1915, this oil painting by the Venetian artist certainly saw success at Drouot, going for double its estimate.
