Erich Marx, renowned German collector, has died aged 99

Marx, who made his fortune as a property developer and began building his esteemed collection in the 1960s, amassing key works by Beuys, Kiefer, Warhol and Twombly among others, has died aged 99. Donating the majority to the German state in the 1990s, his collection formed the basis of the Hamburger Bahnhof. (Guardian)
